| TELLY LEUNG and STORM LEVER to lead RESOUNDING's world premiere live audio adaptation of THE NUTCRACKER Adapted & Directed by STEVE WARGO Dec. 17-19th at 8:00 pm EST, and Dec. 19th at 3:00 pm EST New York, NY - The full cast has been set for Resounding's immersive audio production of The Fantastical Tale of The Nutcracker and The Mouse King performed live for four performances only December 17th-19th. Broadway's Telly Leung (Aladdin) and Storm Lever (Summer: The Donna Summer Musical) will take on the roles of The Nutcracker and Marie in a brand new version of the classic holiday favorite. Gather round the hearth for a hilarious and thrilling world premiere adaptation of the original German fairy tale that inspired the world's favorite ballet. The once-familiar story will become surprisingly new as you immerse yourself in the dark fantasy world of ETA Hoffman's Nutcracker Prince, young Marie who loves him, her strange and mysterious Godfather Drosselmeier, and of the war between the Christmas toys and the evil seven-headed Mouse King bent on destroying them all. A sweeping, romantic, comic adventure for the whole family, this Nutcracker promises to become a new holiday staple for years to come. The full cast includes the voice talents of David Carl (Mr. Robot, Blue Bloods), Jillian Louis (It Shoulda Been You, Law & Order: SVU), and Robert Ian Mackenzie (The Good Shepherd, Grand Theft Auto IV). Plus, the return of Resounding favorites Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Resounding's Dracula, Legally Blonde), Siho Ellsmore (Resounding's Dracula, Neighbors), Chris Renfro (Resounding's Dracula, Reno 911!), and Stuart Williams (Resounding's Dracula, Resounding's Treasure Island, The Plot Against America) . His work spans from traditional musical theater to the avant-garde fringe to environmental/ immersive works. Favorite credits include (as director): the immersive concert experience Kabarett Weimar; seven NYC productions of his musical adaptation (with Dianne Adams McDowell) of Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol; David Ives Don Juan in Chicago (first NYC revival); The Duchess, aka Wallis Simpson and Orchidelirium (both U.S. premieres); I Will Follow, and Air Guitar: The Musical (both for the NYC Fringe); Alls Well That Ends Well (Manhattan Rep.) As a writer: Triassic Parq: The Musical (with Marshall Pailet and Bryce Norbitz) (NYC Fringe Best Musical 10; Off-Broadway 12: Lortel Nom.; L.A. 13: 11 Ovation Award Noms, Winner: Best Musical; San Franciso 14: 8 SGBATCC Noms; Published and licensed by Broadway Licensing.); Scooby-Doosical with Keith Varney; Nighttime Traffic with Alex Wyse. As producer: Keith Varney's I Got Fired: A Revenge Musica l (with Liz Ulmer, NYMF 10; Theater for the American Musical Award; South Korea's Daegu International Musical Festival 11); Arthur Kopits revised BecauseHeCan (first NYC revival). In theater-adjacent work, he has lectured (on A Christmas Carol ) at Brooklyn College, and his essay, "Journey On," on how the AIDS crisis impacted the development of the American Musical, was published in the trade journal Musical Theater Today. Steve grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and earned his BFA in Musical Theater from Syracuse University. David Horowitz (Director of Technical Design) is a sound engineer, designer, musician, composer, father, and husband. He has designed shows at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall and has mixed numerous shows on and off-Broadway. Memorable shows on Broadway include Beetlejuice, Spring Awakening, and Hands on a Hardbody. Favorite credits off-Broadway include The Great Immensity, This Beautiful City, Ave Q, and Slug Bearers of Kayroll Island. Blair Russell (Director of Operations) is a Tony nominated producer, developer, supporter, and lover of theatre whose experience ranges from fringe festivals to Broadway shows. Some of his most recent projects include Slave Play by Jeremy O. Harris (Tony nomination for Best Play),and the critically acclaimed immersive Off-Broadway production of Sweeney Todd. At Show Shepherd, he helps writers and producers to navigate the development of new work He currently serves on the board of The New Harmony Project and is Co-President of the board of New York Theatre Barn. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Technical Theatre/Stage Management.
