| Yes you can see movies on your TV...and pray at home, and eat at home and workout at home....I understand huskyital's frustration with Cuomo... Movie theatres have been open in 49 states since August...long after NYC flattened the curve....with no reported COVID cases traced to attendance...Film Forum for one said they fully expected to be open by then...and the irony is one can't see anything there but can walk to the PATH train nearby and see one in NJ....alot of the rules are arbitrary..I actually think Cuomo hasn't re-opened because it is not a priority. Neither he or the mayor seem to care about the arts very much and view entertainment as frivoulous and unecessary...which is how I feel about that "essential" business...alcohol..to each his own.. NYC and LA(the only other city with cinemas still closed) are the major market for the film industry. Without them films will continue to be held back. Imagine if legit theatres all over the US opened but NOT Broadway. Again, I may not be ready to return to moviegoing but many I know are. It's the last affordable form of popular entertainment...theatre, concerts and sports sure aren't. |
