Yeah, it's not great, but I think you the hit nail on the head in your first sentence. I'm guessing the film is aiming to be very family-friendly holiday fare. Within that context, the number feels warm and sweet. The film looks tween-Disney to me. It will hit the Netflix daily top 10 quickly.
As a side note, I've never cared for Kidman in any film. Even in The Hours, which I think is a wonderful film, I find her to be the weak link. |
