I agree that film can be imaginatively adapted and make for excellent stage productions.
I don't think Spamalot falls into that category. It took everything that was edgy and satirical and, frankly, brilliant about Holy Grail and buffed it down to uninspired pablum. I have rarely been so disappointed by a show.
