| Royscho, for what it's worth, I strongly disagree with your assessment. Although I intellectually understand your point, I think Marin inhabited the character 100 percent, and the technical excellence of her voice did not in any way hinder her performance -- quite the opposite, in fact. On the other hand, when I saw the show, Alice's raw singing and pitch problems were, sadly, so severe that I had trouble enjoying her acting performance, which I agree was perfect for the character. |
