The Ahmanson is too big for plays, unless you have great orchestra seats. I sat in the first row of the Balcony when CRIMES OF THE HEART came to LA with the original NY cast. One needed binoculars and I was young then. Some years ago they added a removable wall that can block off the Balcony, reducing capacity from 2100 to 1600.
