Is it known why Glenn Close didn’t do the movie of Death and the Maiden? Glenn was still a hot star after Fatal Attraction and she won the TONY for Best Actress for the Broadway mounting of the play. In the acceptance she made it clear how important a play she believes it to be. My only guess is that it was because Roman Polanski was directing. By the way I think Sigorney Weaver doesn’t do the role justice, I adore her but I didn’t really believe a single moment of her performance. It was like watching an acting exercise. One scene in particular where she goes outside to talk to her husband about her experiences seems like a bad rehearsal.

Also any memories of the play on Broadway?
