Bernadette Peters singing "Time Heals Everything" in Mack and Mabel, saw it in L.A. before it went to Broadway. I was in the balcony and still have the visual of that moment and staging. Seeing Kristin Chenoweth sing "Popular" in Wicked in San Francisco (wearing a brace on her neck). Pretty much the entire show of Rent downtown, in the third week of its run. I don't think anything I see will ever compare to that for me. And, although it wasn't a "pre-iconic" moment, seeing Dean Jones sing "Being Alive" in Long Beach in 1992 was that rare chance to see an iconic performance come to life. |
