Disagree about Venus in Fur, which was well regarded and nominated for a raft of awards. If you don't know anyone who's seen it, that may have more to do with it being in French, and therefore not terribly widely distributed in the U.S. (And American audiences aren't exactly falling over themselves to see Polanski's films these days anyway...)
