OPEN LETTER TO ACTORS' EQUITY ASSOCIATION
LEADERSHIP from MEMBERS & THEATRE COMMUNITY!
The pandemic crisis continues to keep our theatres shuttered and is likely to continue well into this New Year of 2021. We must act to spur AEA leadership to take a far more flexible approach to getting us back to work. Since the crisis especially puts the not-for-profit organizations at grave financial risk and costs union members income, health coverage and pension credits, Equity must share and promote safe ways to get actors back on stage and audiences safely in at least some of the seats.
To this end, a number of theatre makers recently came together in informal discussions in which common concerns emerged. These concerns have been distilled into recommendations and compiled into An Open Letter to the Leadership of Actors' Equity Association.
Please take a moment to read the letter at the link below. If you are in agreement with its recommendations, please add your signature to the growing list of hundreds of actors, stage managers, artistic and producing artistic directors, etc. |
