I don't deny that there is a special frisson when the recipient is very old; the sentimental oomph is extra special. But as far as I know the honours were created to award people who have achieved excellence in their field.
60 is more than old enough to make that determination. Nathan Lane has been excellent for 40 years now.
Agree or disagree with the choices they make but claiming that 60 is too young to receive one is your opinion and not the stated goal of the event itself.
