How about at least THREE times(and I'm sure there are several more)--and in THREE "successive seasons--people have won in lead for what are supporting roles?" I'm thinking of Donna McKechnie for CHORUS LINE the season before Rose won for MFL. No disrespect to the brilliant McKechnie, just as none to Rose or Loudon, but Cassie too is clearly a supporting role(in a show that probably doesn't have any leads at all, unless one counts Zach).
