And yes, i agree about what we see in the last 20 years of broadway choreo. And it's not just that but relentless over-choreography any chance they can do it. Speaking of Promises Promises, I think Rob Ashford is one of the biggest offenders in this way. His How to Succeed revival was riddled with that, as was, I felt, his Parade. And it's not just over-doing it or adding it where the show/song isn't built for it, it's creating stuff that has nothing to do with the song or moment in the play, but also doesn't compliment it or illuminate anything.
