''Fall River Legend'' (1948), the Agnes de Mille ballet; ''Lizzie Borden'' (1965), an opera by Jack Beeson, and ''Lizzie Borden'' (1998), a musical.
Two-time Tony nominee Alison Fraser starred in the musical, by Christopher McGovern and Amy Powers (who wrote some lyrics to ''Sunset Blvd.'').
And then there's the ''Lizzie Borden'' number (by Michael Brown) from Leonard Silliman's ''New Faces of 1952.''
Its catchy chorus included: ''You can't chop your poppa up in Massachusetts.'' |
