it's ironic. On one hand, I feel she gets props for singing an "old" showtune that most likely no one in that studio audience had ever heard, lol. On the other hand, yes, it really is kind of a real-life Follies moment.
I feel like it's taking her so...much...E-F-F-O-R-T to get through it. Comparable to the forced feeling I got from Streisand doing her "look, I WILL PROVE I can sing the Gypsy songs" medley from her last televised concert. (awkward...) |
