Your mention of "No Strings" winning "Best Original Cast Show Album" is for the Grammys.
What I find even more puzzling is that Rodgers won the Tony Award when it was up against three other shows than "Forum," "Oliver" and "Stop the World":
Those were:
"How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying"/Frank Loesser
"Kwamina"/Richard Adler
"Milk and Honey"/Jerry Herman
In my humble opinion, Rodgers won over Loesser because he was Richard Rodgers (and he' only recently lost his partner). "How To Succeed" is a far better score. |
