| She was invited as a special guest to the Northwestern Cherub high school program one summer in the early 70s. I was a teacher and asked to meet her at the airport to prep her for an onstage interview. She was lovably odd, and when asked by one of the students in the audience for advice for a young actress contemplating a career, she replied bluntly, "Don't get pregnant." Her response was not well-received by much of the faculty, but others thought it quite practical and spot-on. |
