Not sure why the Vulture is kinda ribbing the Tonys for ''finally giving'' Aaron Tveit his prize.
Granted, I thought he deserved to be nominated for ''Next to Normal'' at the 2009 Tonys and for ''Catch Me If You Can'' at the 2011 Tonys, but he's still no Susan Lucci, who won her first Emmy after 19 tries. Frankly, Tveit's ''Moulin Rouge!'' co-star, Danny Burstein, has been waiting even longer. This is his 7th Tony nomination (he's been winless), and his first nomination (for ''The Drowsy Chaperone'') dates back to the 2006 Tonys.
Meantime, ''Moulin Rouge!'' might need to refresh the Tony voters' memories. This March, it'll have been over a year and a half since it opened. |
