I saw THE IRISHMAN at the Belasco. The de-aging effects to me were not a distraction at all. Maybe on the small screen it is more glaring or something. I don't get this criticism of this film's visual effects. I think it should have won the Oscar in that category.
THE IRISHMAN is a classic, at any rate. It's one of those flicks I'd love to see again. DeNiro is great. He did not get the accolades or the award recognition of his rightly celebrated co-stars (who are also great), but he will ultimately prevail for this performance.
It is Scorsese's masterwork (so far). |
