I'll admit I don't know the show that well, I've listened to the score a few times and saw one of the movies as a teen, but outside of a few songs and its historical significance it never made much impact in my memory (due possibly to the fact that I've never seen it live).
So while i'm a big Hal nerd, I don't actually know much (or don't remember what I may have read about it) about what changes were made for the Prince version. But your strongly negative reaction makes me extra curious what he did and why you think the changes were so off and so distancing from the authors intentions or writing.
Any details or thoughts would be appreciated. |
