| Absolutely. I have thought the rise of jukebox musicals reflects that theater music is no longer central to the larger musical culture. In the OLD days, producers and song writers got songs from musicals recorded and played on the radio _before_ the show opened. At least some of the score was already bouncing in the audience's head. |
