"The Story of My Life" - so boring and wrongheaded
"Welcome to the Club" -- about jail for alimony delinquents -- somehow Cy Coleman wrote a bad musical, though Sally Mayes (I think a last minute cast change from understudy to getting the part) was a standout
"Prymate" -- Andre de Shields was actually quite good in this -- James Naughton gave his usual performance, but otherwise a very bizarre play
"Scarlet Pimpernel" -- couldn't believe the audience was laughing so hard at the pushed singing and very "indicating" acting of Douglas Sills (he's been better in other things)-- otherwise, it had a few nice numbers, mostly courtesy of Christine Andreas
"Dance of the Vampires" was too much fun in its performance to be listed among the worst -- it was more "can't believe I'm seeing what I'm seeing"
It wasn't Broadway, but it had Mandy Patinkin in drag (yikes) -- "The Knife" down at the Public -- double yikes! |
