| O'Connor was great as Cap'n Andy with added tap specialty and great physicality during the melodrama, the much too early departed Bruce Hubbard sang the best "Ol' Man River" since Paul Robeson, Lonette McKee great as Julie, Sheryl Woods a lovely Magnolia, Ron Raines very good as Gaylord Ravenal, Paige O'Hara a marvelous Ellie, Karla Burns excellent as Queenie, and altogether a memorable production, even better than the still very good Prince one. |
