I was just thinking about this the other day, how Peters couldn't have sung the role. But then could there have been any truth either to the story that Kahn herself vetoed Danny Kaye(based on her experiences with him in "Two by Two")playing Oscar? HOW he could have sung that role?? Or did Coleman write the music afterwards?? Or would he have modified the demands--considerably?
As for Prince's "mix-up," I can easily believe it happening once, maybe at the very beginning. But he didn't realize it before Kahn was actually signed??
