Since you chimed in again, I may as well again voice that what some of us felt the opposite. On a big screen, for me, the CGI was laughable and distracting and deserved no oscar. I do not think the film is a classic, at any rate. I have no interest in sitting through it again except to give it another chance to work on me. And I think DeNiro is boring and wooden the entire film, aka not giving a good performance - and he got more accolades than deserved, and I was relieved when he wasn't nominated for an Oscar (or Golden Globe) as some kind of vote for his staggering career (mostly pre-1998) or how good people *hoped* he'd get to be in this.
I know you very much disagree. I know many who agree with you and many who agree with me.
So it is indeed time to let this go. |
