MikeM, I'm with you. I also thought Kristin should've won the Tony for ''On the Twentieth Century.'' I loved her singing and her sense of comedy.

For the record, Kristin won Best Actress in a Musical at the Outer Critics (over Kelli) and at the Drama Desks (which didn't even nominate Kelli!).

But as Chazwaza noted, it was ''Kelli's year'' at the 2015 Tonys. ''The King and I'' was her 6th Tony nomination, and she was overdue to win.

I'd also agree Kelli's been more luminous in other shows, like ''The Light in the Piazza,'' and arguably worthier of the win in other seasons.

I read somewhere that Kelli was glad to finally have a Tony, but she really wanted to win for ''The Bridges of Madison County'' in 2014.

Sometimes, performers don't win for their best performances. (Sometimes, they're not even nominated: like Steven Pasquale in ''Bridges''!)

I also wonder if Kristin's chances would've been better if she weren't already a past Tony winner (for ''You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown'').
