But the Globes are funny... Emily in Paris for Best Comedy Series and Lead Actress (but no Ashley Park)? And nothing for Michaela Cole and "I May Destroy You"? Enough said.
And, perhaps not so surprising considering the nominators, but a very, very, very white list of creatives. That's not to say that most of the people nominated aren't worth the recognition - they are, and there are so many eligible people that we could make five lists and not include everyone - just that it's very clear that the Globes has a fairly limited lens in how they approach the work and who they respond to (and as my husband pointed out, both of the POC actors in Male Lead for Comedy/Musical are playing white characters). |
