| ...The Globes have also been willing to shine a light on smaller, critically acclaimed films and TV shows before those shows have found large audiences or before other awards shows have "caught on." Yeah, they can be a bit of a mess and, yes, there are always bizarre, head-scratching nominations, but, personally, I think that's part of what makes their show fun -- the somewhat unpredictable nature of the nominations that results in sometimes worthy smaller players getting a spotlight and then, yes, also questionable selections getting in on their personal appeal or name recognition. |
