| I once had a discussion with a devout Mormon woman who claimed that "Fried Green Tomatoes" was one of the most beautiful books and movies that she had ever read or seen. When I told her that it was about a Lesbian couple, she responded vehemently saying" How could you possibly defile a beautiful female bonding relationship with such filth." When I then told her that the author was a Lesbian, she stormed off in anger. She also told me that she could always identify gay men because they always wore their sweaters tied around their necks. Needless to say, I later learned that her brother-in-law had divorced her sister and six children so he could pursue a gay relationship. Come on, you can't make this stuff up. |
