What a beautiful, noble, vulnerable, virile Hamlet.
And what treats in the cast. Donald Sutherland as Fortinbras. And Robert Shaw as the uncle King.
But...most surprising of all...a young Michael Caine of unearthly beauty as Horatio, with impeccable, magnificent speech (was that odd low-class accent with which he became identified merely an affect?)
And Elsinore itself. A splendid, spare production. Bravo.
