Carol gave a similar curtain speech the night I saw the show on Broadway in 1994, but all I really remember is her phrasing of Manny Kladitis's name. Nearly 30 years earlier, when I saw the show for the first time, Ginger Rogers told us we were the best audience she'd ever had. Then I found out she said that to every audience.
