| After I saw the recent movie version of the Ryan Murphy production of THE BOYS IN THE BAND, I commented in more than one forum that I was sorry one of the lines had been changed to reference Joe Allen (the restaurant) rather than a more high-toned, pretentious restaurant (I think maybe it's Lutece or some place like that in the original script), because the change didn't work in terms of the meaning of the line. I still feel that way, BUT now I guess it doesn't bother me as much, because I think it's sweet that Mr. Allen and the restaurant have been honored in that way :-) |
