| Other than being rather good in "Victor/Victoria" on Broadway, I really never quite understood how Tony Roberts got so much work; to me, he never seemed a particularly outstanding a performer. Mostly he was serviceable. Joe Namath back then at least had looks and his fame as an athlete. I think had been cast as Joe Hardy in "Damn Yankees" which perhaps with some cutting of material, as an athlete he could have gotten by to some extent. As Joe in "Sugar", though, that's pretty questionable casting. |
