| I wonder if this case were in the US, how would it have turned out. The new front in battle for gay equality is "religious freedom" or "Jesus made me hate gays.' The US courts, now filled with conservative judges, seem very open to it, unfortunately. |

| The case would have turned out exactly the same in any court in the world, regardless of the judges' opinions on homosexuality, because the case does not turn on homosexuality. The case turns on the question whether you can sue someone for damages after they have not allowed you to do something that you were going to refuse to do anyway, and the well-settled legal answer is: No. | |

| I don't think it would have made any difference. There are very few careers for which "I failed to read the job description before accepting" is going to pass legal muster. | |

| It’s argued as contract law, which the courts tend to uphold. No lead actor can besmirch the production or behave in a manner that alienates the audience for the production without consequences. It’s in the contract. | |
