| I have scoured the internets, but have been coming up bust, so I come to the font of knowledge about such things. I am teaching a survey class of theater productions available on streaming for a large group of seniors this spring. I would like to include some Sondheim productions, but aside from two versions of Into the Woods, most seem to be not available to stream. Am I missing a trove somewhere? To clarify, I am looking for live productions filmed in a theater, not movie versions of shows. Thanks for any help! |

| The original production of Pacific Overtures was filmed for Japanese television, and is available on YouTube. | |

| The British production of Gypsy starring Imelda Staunton can be rented from Amazon Prime and presumably elsewhere. The Broadway production of Putting It Together as well as the Regent's Park Open Air production of Into the Woods are both on BroadwayHD. A number of Sondheim productions that were previously available for streaming are not currently available. I would strongly encourage you not to send your class looking for illegally uploaded copies on YouTube as other people in this thread have suggested. There is so much legally available, professionally recorded musical theater today, you should have no problem filling out a survey class with what's available, even if every show isn't your first choice. |

| Thank you. In addition to the considerable ethical considerations, which would be and are enough, I cannot imagine my anxiety could withstand the very real possibility that a Youtube link might disappear at any second. | |

| Not sure if these are streamings, but I know I saw a film of the stage-show COMPANY revival with Raul Esparza as Bobby. And Neil Patrick Harris did a COMPANY that was on tv (via Lincoln Center?). Plus you could all watch the brilliant Pennebaker documentary of the original Bway cast recording of COMPANY with Stritch, Jones, Browning, et al. I also saw a PASSION. Maybe with Patti Lupone...? From a DC theatre’s production? There are a couple Sweeney Todd’s. The concert version with George Hearn, Patti Lupone, and Neil Patrick Harris, and then the one that was recorded from the tour with Hearn and Lansbury. There was a reasonably good Lincoln Center NIGHT MUSIC with Juliet Stevenson, Jeremy Irons, and Sally Ann Howes, but I don’t know if it was recorded. And the film that Lonny Price made about the fated original production of MERRILY, “The Best Worst Thing...” captures a lot, though it focusses more on its own thematic concerns than the show proper. And that one is on either netflix or amazon prime. The Imelda Staunton FOLLIES in England got filmed, and I think I saw it through the National Theatre onstage program or something. Ditto the outdoor in-the-park London production of INTO THE WOODS (the one with the little boy in it). |

| ...any idea where I could find them streaming? I have all of the available DVDs of the shows you mentioned, but it's a class of 400 people and I cannot share my single copies with such a crowd. | |

| The filmed version of the tour of Sweeney Todd is on Amazon Prime or itunes (3.99 rental) The filmed stage version of Sunday In The Park is available to stream on itunes ($2.99 rental) I can't find the filmed for tv version of the broadway productions of Passion or the Raul Esparza Company on any of the streaming services, but it's all on youtube if you search for it. (Probably some of the other things that lordofspeach mentions are on youtube, too. It seems like everything is! I just didn't search to see) |
