| Sorry, I remember reading that most or all of RENT was going to be filmed in/on Treasure Island, off of San Francisco. (See article linked to below.) I do believe that most of it, or some of it, was filmed there, including the opening/title song sequence. But now that I think of it, and just going from memory, I think they must have wound up filming at least some of it in New York -- for example, there's a scene on the subway ("Santa Fe"), and then in "I'll Cover You" the characters seem to be singing while walking actual NYC streets. |
