Any fans of MGM's 1954 screen version starring Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse? I've caught bits of it, but I guess I need to see the complete film.
I was so bummed to read that the movie cuts two of my favorite Lerner & Loewe songs ever: the glorious ''Come to Me, Bend to Me'' and ''There But for You Go I.'' Also dropped: ''From This Day On'' and Meg's hilarious ''The Love of My Life'' (considered too risque for general audiences back then).
I had hoped Broadway would revive ''Brigadoon'' with Patrick Wilson & Kelli O'Hara, but that's like waitin' for a mythic Scottish town to reappear. |
