THIS is the incredible show friends and family have been raving about? Maybe you had to be there? Perhaps it's not going to resonate on Hulu the way it did in an intimate theatre. I mean I 'got it' -- I understood the concept. I found a few individual moments charming. I just wasn't that engaged (and certainly not moved) by the execution. Some impressive illusions and an emotionally manipulative TED talk littered with pregnant pauses and Instagram-worthy profundities like "every secret has a weight.."?
Derek DelGaudio would be a good televangelist. Or cult leader. |
