| Have you (and she) watched Debbie Allen's Hot Chocolate Nutcracker documentary on Netflix? It addresses the racism in the ballet world, and also showcases Allen's company that is open to ALL. | |

| Netflix's TINY PRETTY THINGS also addresses racism in the ballet world, although it's really not for kids...even though it's set in a ballet school. The show's lead is an African-American ballet student from LA who gets a scholarship to attend a prestigious ballet training academy in Chicago whose student body is almost entirely white. It's a sexy "teen" murder high school kind of show, but I really enjoyed it, not least because the cast is comprised of actual trained dancers who can also act. |
