Actually, the Met has stated that the 30% wage cut will only be restored by half once the box office reaches pre-pandemic levels, meaning that workers would still be subject to a 15% pay cut for the duration of the contract, which would also become the new floor from which to negotiate future contracts. Gelb is using the pandemic to lower salaries across the board and in perpetuity.
