What a cost that must have been.
But, I guess, The Lion King had an out-of-town tryout that included the complete set as used in the Broadway production (unlike the touring production that followed). Ditto Hairspray.
I remember seeing the out-of-town tryouts of Chicago, Raisin, The Wiz (and the never-to-reach New York Miss Moffit). I assume we saw the complete sets of each. But perhaps not. |
