| Although one of the things that Sondheim wrote about Brustein is incorrect. :) And even if it had been correct, it would have been understandable and nothing for which he would have deserved to be criticized. I mean the footnote on p. 286. I think the critic he was thinking of was Jerry Tallmer. And why would a critic have credited Jerome Robbins with the staging of "Comedy Tonight" when he was not officially credited with anything on the show (although it had been mentioned in the press that he had helped out)? |
