Which pop music songwriters should cross over to Broadway?

Since I know it's become quite popular to have artists from the pop music world crossover to Broadway as composers/songwriters are there any current pop artists you'd actually WANT to hear a new musical score from? I use the term "pop" VERY broadly. I would not limit genres -- anyone from pop, indie, alternative, r&b, hip-hop, country, whatever... but someone from the "popular" music world, not someone who currently has or does work in the theatre or opera. Note: I'm not talking about jukebox/song catalog musicals, but about new, original scores.

I know there've been mixed results with this approach for everyone who has critical and commercial success (think Elton John as the biggest example and Sara Bareilles as another,) there are others who seem to have only fallen into theatre composing because they've lost relevance and popularity in their original genre.

Put realistic propositions aside -- obviously some artists are too successful in their original genre to consider Broadway -- but don't worry about that right now. Who would you be intrigued to hear compose for the theatre? A few off the top of my head...

RUFUS WAINWRIGHT: I wouldn't mind Rufus giving it a go, though his lyrics can be so precious, I think he'd benefit from a co-lyricist.

NICK CAVE: Nick Cave is an incredible storyteller in his music. Undoubtedly, whatever project he'd be connected to would be dark, but I could imagine him doing very well.

ALISON GOLDFRAPP and WILL GREGORY of GOLDFRAPP: Their bewitching Tales of Us album had them writing largely from the POV of different fictional characters. Their music is often lushly beautiful with something sinister lingering just below (deep on subtext). They also sometimes demonstrate a wry sense of humor. Their lyrics can sometimes be a bit opaque, so I think they'd benefit from a co-lyricist.

DAMON ALBARN of Blur and Gorillaz: Great sense of melody, "kind of" has written for characters via Gorillaz and has dabbled in theatre work, but not exactly a traditional Broadway musical.

ANNIE LENNOX: Obviously, with Eurythmics and with her early solo career, she's been one of the greatest female artists of the 80s and 90s. I will say, after her incredible solo debut album, Diva, with the exception of a song here or there, she's been in a bit of a creative rut. She clearly understands and appreciates theatricality and she herself has an electrifying star presence (see her Grammys performance from a couple of years ago in which she outshone every artist on stage half her age.) I wonder if the right songwriting partner could stimulate her in a new way in the theatre.

Some others... KATE BUSH, ROISIN MURPHY, RAPHAEL SAADIQ, JANELLE MONAE, MISSY ELLIOTT, JILL SCOTT, PJ HARVEY.
