Meryl Streep will star in ''Places, Please,'' a drama directed by Tony winner Michael Cristofer & written by Elisabeth Seldes Annacone.
Streep will play an illustrious Broadway actress who has never missed a performance, but now faces a crisis of confidence.
In a Deadline.com interview, Streep and Cristofer reminisce about doing ''The Cherry Orchard'' at the Vivian Beaumont in 1977.
One night, Robert DeNiro was in the audience, and he cast her in ''The Deer Hunter,'' and thus began her famed film career.
Streep and Cristofer also recall their early days as struggling actors and share their hopes for post-pandemic theater. |
