Jack Benny with his celebrity guests incorporated "Jell-O" commercials into his TV comedy skits sort of in the same vein as the Nichols/May routine.
I remember Dorothy Collins doing straight commercials for "Lucy Strike" cigarettes. When seen today, the casual language and the positive way she talked about smoking are pretty jarring.
