| You are confounding songs taken out of context (something over which the author has little control in our licensing regime) and songs (or words or staging) in the context of a show. The fact remains that satire must be directed at something or someone for a purpose, and the objections being raised are to faux-satiric "props and punchlines" or what I earlier called collateral damage. Just getting a laugh is not a purpose of satire. |
