| There was a cast album made on Varese Sarabande, of course out of print. Copies pop up occassionally, usually at rather high prices. The score is not the problem, the story was, too vulgar, emotionally ugly, without catharsis to succeed. Lansbury supposedly turned down Follies because neither of the leads was as much a star vehicle as she would have needed at this stage of her career. I did not see the show, although I was from Boston at the time but in college on Long Island. | |
