The great Jo Henderson played Dr. Livingstone in November 1980 at CenterStage. According to the review in the Baltimore Sun, Tania Myren played Agnes. FWIW, the Baltimore Sun thought that production was better than the Broadway production.
The play had been seen in March 1980 as part of the Actors Theatre of Louisville Festival of New American Plays. Pitoniak was also in that production, with Mia Dillon as Agnes, and Adale O'Brien as the psychiatrist. Dillon later played Agnes at the Music Box for a week when Amanda Plummer took a vacation.
Looking a bit further, I found that there were several productions around the U.S. before the Broadway production. |
