| I would imagine that each hospital would be using whatever card stock is available to them -- it's not intended to be forge-proof. It doesn't really matter. If the Chicago venues decide to go the vaccine passport route, the documentation will most likely be something that will be sent to the vaccinated person's cell phone. | |

| Had my first dose at Walgreens and all they gave me was a receipt and the info on the shot. Have second shot at the end of the month. What should I ask them for? Thanks. |

| I’m surprised at all the responses with people having gotten the vaccine already. CA is truly three hours behind the times. | |

| I'm 72, which made me eligible. However, where I live (near Chicago in Cook County) it's harder to get a vaccination appointment than it was to get a standing room ticket for Hamilton on Broadway. Fortunately for me, my doctor's practice is in a rural area of Illinois about an hour from where I live so I had no problem. So far my partner (who is younger than I am) can't get a straight answer from anyone about getting vaccinated. |

| It is free but I guess the drug store has to run it through the register to keep track (kind of like a prescription with $0 copay still gets you a receipt). As I understand it, if you have insurance, the drug store can bill a dispensing fee (which is small), but if you don't have insurance, it's covered by the state (at least in NY). | |

| The store receipt shows the RX number for the vaccine and the price of 0.00. It also says "your insurance saved you $2.59. | |

| I assume that is the dispensing fee. I also assume the drug store is getting some compensation from the govt beyond that. On a semi-unrelated note, I read (maybe in a tweet from our fallen-star governor) that 12 million New Yorkers are currently eligible for the vaccine. That's interesting for a couple of reasons. First, it reflects how many eligible people have not been vaccinated yet, and second it means that there are only about 3-4 million more adults to be come eligible. I think I also read that another wave of eligibles are coming online soon. |

| Walgreens gave me the card after my first dose without me even asking about it. I'd suggest calling them/stopping by now, even before you go for the second shot. | |

| Good. Now, not to unduly worry you, but the problem I had--and several other people I know of who got the vaccine at Walgreens/Duane Reade(in NYC)is this: nothing to do with getting the card but with making sure you get the same vaccine(Pfizer or Moderna)for the second shot that you got the first time. Even IF you're scheduled for the same store--and many people are scheduled for a different Walgreens/Duane Reade for the second--this chain is not administering the program well at all. By the time of the second dose, the specific pharmacy may have gotten only the other vaccine and may or may not be helpful at scheduling you for a pharmacy which will have your correct vaccine for the day(or soon after)you're scheduled for your second shot. I urge everyone getting the vaccine at Walgreens/Duane Reade to personally keep on top of this from soon after the first shot and definitely in the week leading up to the date of the second to be sure they have an app't. for the right vaccine. |

| Dear Ann: I must register this clarification and disclaimer. Vaccine is a euphemism that has been bruited about. In fact, what we’re talking about is an experimental mRNA injection which is not approved by the FDA except as an emergency measure. These chatterings all presume unscientifically, erring on the popular side of Fauci and the World Health Organization. Such presumption might encourage people who are younger than 80 or 70 to take the injection, despite the disease’s 99.8 percent mortality rate and the available treatments which have emerged. I understand there is a fervent belief that these injections are imperative for theatres to re-open. This is not fact. It’s simply hypothesis from media reportings on government authorities and medical administrators. We may already be far safer than we were told or have thought. I am not a covid-denier. But I never stayed home from the theatre to avoid tuberculosis, which was always a greater risk than this. |

| C'mon, dude! Over 525,000 people in this country have died of covid-19 in a little over 12 months. Everyone needs to take it seriously if we ever want to get back to some sense of normalcy. | |

| For New York State now if you have had your second shot you don’t need to follow the test and quarantine rules for 90 days after your second shot. They say “That means if at least three months have passed since your second shot, you will still need to test and quarantine. This policy is a reflection of the lack of data around how long vaccine-related immunity will last.” This policy was announced this week. Many States are changing their rules right now based on the proof of vaccination we are discussing, Illinois for example are saying that two weeks after your second dose from that point on you do not need to follow their test or questing rules for entry. They do not as far as I can see specify a maximum period it applies. It varies by State and obviously still social distance and wear a mask etc |

| It's not to me, at least not yet. As posted, "This policy is a reflection of the lack of data around how long vaccine-related immunity will last.” They will be learning more over the next few months and they will later be able to provide guidelines based on data. I'm sure they're being very cautious, not knowing exactly what the vaccine immunity is. | |

| I guess the good news is we will be finding out sooner rather than later what the data is on how long vaccine-related immunity lasts. | |
