At the hospital I went to, you can't receive the 2nd dose without the card, which verifies you did receive the 1st dose. The card is not intended to be a vaccine passport.
The Tribune article I cited has nothing to do with the CDC card, which can easily be forged. Supposedly (according to the article), some technology is in the works to come up with a way to verify full vaccination if that is required for admittance to a Chicago theater. |
